Supermarkets inquiry issues paper

Overview

The ACCC is conducting an inquiry into pricing and competition in Australia's supermarket sector.

We will examine competitive dynamics in the retail supply of groceries and in associated supply chains. We will also have particular regard to how prices are set at different levels of the supply chain, and the associated margins.

As part of the inquiry, we invited submissions in response to our issues paper. Submissions to the issues paper have now closed. If you wish to make a late submission, please contact supermarkets@accc.gov.au.

Why your views matter

We will conduct broad consultation with interested parties through a number of engagement opportunities.

Submissions from industry participants will improve our understanding of the supermarket sector, and identify areas of focus for this inquiry.
