Toppling Furniture Survey – Suitability of ASTM F2057-23

Overview

The ACCC is considering whether stability and tip-over restraint/anchoring requirements set out in ASTM F2057–23 Standard Safety Specification for Clothing Storage Units (the Furniture Standard), including the requirement for tip-over restraints or anchors to comply with ASTM F3096-23 Standard Performance Specification for Tip-over Restraint(s) Used with Clothing Storage Unit(s) (the Tip-over Restraints Standard), are suitable for inclusion in an Australian mandatory safety standard.
