Water Markets Intermediaries Code information session - September 2025
Overview
Join our free information session to learn about the Water Markets Intermediaries Code.
A new code has been developed for water markets intermediaries. The code is made in regulations and commences in two phases. Phase 1 obligations started on 1 July 2025. Phase 2 obligations start on 1 October 2025.
The code applies to water markets intermediaries such as:
- brokers
- exchanges
- irrigation infrastructure operators (IIOs) that provide intermediary services including operating an exchange, and
- any other intermediary service providers.
Water markets intermediaries also need to follow trust accounting obligations under the Water Act 2007, which commenced on 1 July 2025.
This online information session will provide participants:
- information about the new obligations
- an overview of the ACCC’s approach to compliance
- time for questions and answers.
Once registrations have closed, the ACCC will confirm your registration to attend virtually. Closer to the event, we will email you the livestream link.
