Water Markets Intermediaries Code supplementary information session

Join our free information session to learn about the Water Markets Intermediaries Code obligations commencing 1 October and the ACCC’s guidance approach.

A new code has been developed for water markets intermediaries. The code is made in regulations and commences in two stages: 1 July 2025 and 1 October 2025.

The code applies to water markets intermediaries such as:

• brokers
• exchanges
• irrigation infrastructure operators (IIOs) that provide intermediary services including operating an exchange, and
• any other intermediary service providers.

Water markets intermediaries also need to follow new trust accounting obligations under the Water Act 2007, which commenced on 1 July 2025.

This online information session will provide participants:

• further detail on the obligations commencing 1 October 2025
• an overview of the ACCC’s guidance approach
• time for questions and answers.
