Electricity supply and prices inquiry public forums

Overview

The ACCC is inviting electricity customers to participate in a series of public forums as part of the Electricity supply and prices inquiry.

Attendees will have the opportunity to raise competition and pricing issues in the retail electricity sector with ACCC Commissioners.

Forums are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday 25 July 2017, 5-7pm, Brisbane, Qld - Hotel Urban, 345 Wickham Terrace, Brisbane
  • Monday 31 July 2017, 1-3pm, Adelaide, SA (large user focus) – Rydges, 1 South Terrace, Adelaide
  • Monday 31 July 2017, 5-7pm, Adelaide, SA – Rydges, 1 South Terrace, Adelaide
  • Thursday 3 August 2017, 5-7pm, Melbourne, Vic – Rendezvous Hotel, 328 Flinders Street, Melbourne
  • Monday 7 August 2017, 5-7pm, Townsville, Qld – Rydges, 23 Palmer Street, South Townsville
  • Monday 14 August 2017, 5-7pm, Sydney, NSW - The Radisson Hotel & Suites, 72 Liverpool Street, Sydney

Light refreshments will be served 30 minutes prior to each forum commencing.

If you would like to provide information but are unable to attend a forum, please contact retailelectricityinquiry@accc.gov.au.

The forums will focus on residential and small business customers, but large customers are welcome to attend any of the forums. There will also be a dedicated large customer forum in Adelaide on 31 July.

Following the forums, a summary of issues discussed at the forums will be published on the ACCC website. Names of attendees will not be published.

The forum discussions will be closed to the media. Media are welcome to attend the venue to interview Commissioners either before or after the forums.
