Survey for consumers - General online retail marketplaces

Closed 19 Aug 2021

Opened 22 Jul 2021

Overview

The ACCC is looking at:

  • How general online retail marketplaces work.
  • Whether there are any competition or consumer issues associated with general online retail marketplaces.

This is part of our Digital Platform Services Inquiry.

General online retail marketplaces are online platforms where sellers can sell their goods direct to Australian consumers. Some of these marketplaces are Amazon, Catch.com.au, eBay and Kogan.

We want to know your experiences and views about using general online retail marketplaces. There is a separate questionnaire for businesses that use general online retail marketplaces to sell goods.

You can find out more about the inquiry in our Issues Paper.

How to participate

We're asking you to share your views with a short survey. It will take around 15 to 20 minutes. You don't have to answer all the questions.

When your comments relate to only a specific marketplace, or to multiple marketplaces, please make this clear in your answer.

This inquiry is a public process, so we will publish your responses on our website and list them as a submission to the inquiry. You don't have to give your name.

You can find out more about confidential submissions in the Issues Paper.
