Coles proposed acquisition of nine Supabarn supermarkets – ACCC consumer forum in Canberra

Closed 24 Jul 2015

Opened 17 Jul 2015

Overview

The ACCC is seeking consumer feedback on Coles’ proposed acquisition of nine Supabarn stores. We are holding a consumer forum with members of the public on Monday, 3 August 2015 from 6pm – 8pm in Canberra City. Further details, including the venue, will be provided to attendees after registration.

If you are unable to attend, we also welcome written submissions, which you can make following the instructions on the ACCC’s mergers public register. It contains more details about the ACCC’s review, and will be updated as the review progresses.

Why your views matter

The purpose of the forum will be for the ACCC to hear directly from consumers and interested parties about their views on the proposed acquisition. Information gathered through this process will help the ACCC to understand consumers' views about Supabarn, its role in supermarket competition, and the effect on competition if Coles were to acquire Supabarn.

If you wish to attend the consumer forum, please register using the online form below by Friday, 24 July 2015.
