Overview

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is conducting a market review into the safety of infant inclined products. As part of this process, the ACCC has released an Issues Paper (available below) for consultation.

The ACCC is concerned about the use of inclined products for infant sleep because they go against an established body of evidence that infants should sleep on a flat, firm surface.

The Issues Paper includes a series of questions about which the ACCC is seeking views. Responses will be used to inform the ACCC’s development of a policy position on this issue, including whether it should recommend regulation.
