Closed 31 Oct 2015

Opened 3 Aug 2015

Overview

Armidale is the third regional location being studied by the ACCC under the petrol monitoring arrangements announced by the Minister for Small Business, the Hon Bruce Billson MP, in December 2014.

The aims of this market study are to explain why prices are higher in Armidale relative to the larger capital cities and to explain each component of the prices paid at the bowser.

The ACCC is using its compulsory information gathering powers under Section 95ZK of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 to obtain information from participants in the Armidale fuel market.

Comments and information

The ACCC is interested in receiving any comments or information that consumers, industry participants, stakeholders or any other interested parties may wish to provide about petrol prices in Armidale.

Information gathered through this process can help the ACCC understand the dynamics of the petroleum industry in Armidale.

The deadline for receipt of comments or information is 31 October 2015.

While all comments or information received by the ACCC will be carefully considered you will only be contacted by the ACCC if required.
